Back In - Dreamhard

a little reference track for OZ. “Back In” < it’s fairly simple. Giving them a lot of room to work on this imo.

I stunt on these niggas

intellectual

never front for no figures

sapiosexual

who loves a good figure

light brown skin

match my dark brown liquor

I lick her; I love her. I kiss her;

I light my best with her

And when she’s high enough

She starts to paint her perfect picture

Just so happens that

I’m in it

With her

in her

She drops some jewels in my ear

as we journey to her center.

Where it’s

cooler than your hottest summer

warmer than your coldest winter

Paradise is quite nice to be honest nigga

Foreign flicks

exotic spliffs

main characters of brown-er tint

plot twists and her hips.

Poems from passion-nets

She cast from her lips

to my neck to my chest

to my fingertips

where my pen is

writing this along her walls

contrary to the song

it will never fall

my my my

Kemetic queen

my nubian baby doll

I saw you in a dream

And I decided I would dream hard…

Hearts at Stake ft. Tre DeJean - Dreamhard from Dream Deferred

the unofficial 1st release from my project called Dream Deferred. It’ll have some poetry, some instrumentals, some songs with me, some songs without me. all songs produced by me. And it’s all league.

Hearts @ Stake ft. Tre Dejean

and with this I’m probably done. IVL

IVL

I just decided today will be an Ivey League Day.

Maybe I should start by explaining what that is exactly. Alex and Tre and I all went to Colgate University together; Tre was my roommate my freshman year. Alex and Tre played basketball and I football. And like most athletes at a nauseating white, private, small liberal arts university we grew as friends. College shit happens and then we graduate.

A few months later, late June/July of 09 Tre and Woods ask if I still make beats. I’ve been making beats since high school throughout college as a hobby. I never took it seriously until they asked me that summer. Alex had come with up with the brand Ivey League LLC (yes it’s licensed now) and we started working. And it would be pigeon-holing to say we’re a music label bc we’re not only just that. I love music. Film is my passion. I got my degree in writing. I write. I write short stories, I write poems, I write scripts. This is what I’ll be doing with my life turning my inspiration into employment for myself. And to be honest, that’s what we’re all doing. Ballsy aint it?

But simply put Alex defined Ivey League as such:

IVL is a conglomerate dedicated to the preservation and advancement of the arts through originality, innovation, and the freedom of expression.

The entire line up consists of Alex (from Alexandria,Va), Sonya (Bay area/dmv), together they form OZ, Tre DeJean(Dallas by way of Chicago), Zel, Mahd, and myself. Zel and Mahd are about 17/18 yrs of age and are from chicago and I have their music and you just don’t hear music like they have from artists their age. Both of them produce and have work on OZ and Tre’s latest releases. It’s all family. I’ve known Tre and woods since I was 18, Zel is Tre’s cousin, Woods and Tre have all types of stories having been division I bball teammates travelling the world. Sonya before I even met her was a signed songwriter. We feel it’s all by design. It’s a gorgeous feeling and why not share that with you all.

Soooo with all that being said, support young artists by clicking some links or click on some songs we ask for your clicking support lol. Tre has a tumblr. Get OZ’s latest project here or here. Or just stay hip to my blog.

Thanks guys and/or gals who read this whole thing lol.

Did I ever cross your mind?

Make me understand

Bc all I have is time

Put me in your plans

You said I always cross the line

Baby, I’m a man

I heard you tried them other niggas

they can’t love like I can

You say I’m always on the run

I told you come with

And we could run to the sun

Be on our n.e.r.d. shit

But you were stuck in your cool

That absurd shit

And it was worthless

Cuz them cool people never scratched your surface

‘But we were urban intellects

Musing on music, books, and the internet

And it was heaven whenever we entered sex

Because we never left, unless

Breakfast came to interject.

Remember those good times?

I found sex personified as a person

I’ve met plenty of people

But none as pure with such potential

I’ve pushed past pulchritude

B/c I preyed on her mental

B/c I prayed for her mental

Where I found peace and pleasure

Rather than the pangs that pierced

me in the past

I pushed powerful pros to paper

to make it last

I pushed powerful pros to paper

to make her crash

to make her crash

to make her crash
